Our traditional French village, with little historical nooks and crannies, was the perfect setting to display different musicians, groups and solo artists; throughout the long weekend of our August festival.

Friday August 1st Otis Redding Show was the first venue during the four day festival in Capestang in the Foyer gardens with our castle in the background. The talented band behind the singer was amazing. They entertained us all. The lead singer’s voice was dreamy, creamy, soulful, with a rich tone and he had an amazing range. He belted out the lyrics to the godfathers of soul; James Brown, Otis Redding, and Stevie Wonder. Fun night had by all!

Los Bracejaries was in the Millenaire parking lot with their cool DJ and popular music blasting into the streets for the entire four days. Kept the party going, and the youth of the area were very pleased.

Saturday August 2nd, unfortunately we had storms and most activities were cancelled. Conga Salsa did one set before packing up their gear and heading home in the rain. What we did hear, was awesome spicy dance music. A very talented group! We walked home happily in the rain…

Sunday August 3rd L’Art a Tatouille rocked the night away, and our friend Alain was on the accordion. My favourite memory of this weekend happened this night, when the lead singer asked a member of the audience to come on stage to help sing a song. She picked an old punk rock, drunken and staggered on stage. He stole the show making cicada songs into the microphone on queue. He took his role very seriously and danced, teased and played on stage. It was very entertaining and funny.

Monday was the quietest of the festival days, but over by the Los Bracejaires the streets were packed watching the Goulamas Fanfare and their lively entertaining group. I see them often, and have never bored of the line-up. We always drink too much, dance in the streets and have a good laugh. <3 these guys!

Through the whole festival the fair rides were set up in the town square. Tagada, spinning chairs, car rides, slots, trampoline  and games for kids of all ages.

Here are my best photos from the weekend.
