Alfonz dreamed up a business, got the licensing together in a foreign language, bought the nine passenger Mercedes Van and created the business South Westy Tours back in 2012.
When my friend Sherrin visited us from Canada, we were inspired to do a trial run of some highlights from the tour.
Six of us got in the van with photos and videos in mind.
Our guests today started off at L’Oulibo for their 1 1/2 hour tour on how table olives are grown and olive oil is produced.
Next we went to find a place to eat. Originally we were off to Minerve, but the weather turned and we managed to find Les Platanes to meet the new owners from New Zealand and sample some of their lovely meals.
We then headed to VanHo a local vendor to taste her exceptional wines.
Lastly we headed towards Domaine De La Provenquiere to visit my friend Francoise and her lovely wine tasting.
We left at 10:00 and came home after 17:00, just in time to pick up the children from school. We bought three boxes of wine and had a lovely day with our first guests.

Since then Alfonz has teamed up his mentor Wendy Gedney, masters of Languedoc wines, from Vin en Vacances who has taken him under her wind. He now has his WSET accreditation passed with merit and continues with his passion. He also has a love of history, and enjoys learning about the Cathars and French history in the Languedoc.
Vin en Vacances is rated the Tripadvisor #1 activity to do in Carcassonne and we are bringing the same tours to Capestang, Beziers, Narbonne and Pezenas hosted by my lovely husband Alfonz.
